Palmer Street has become a well established eating strip, near the mall and over the Ross creek. Over recent years several new highrise buildings have risen. The complex in the foreground is Oaks M on Palmer, and the crane in the background shows the Solarus apartment complex under construction. The palm trees to the right remind the viewer of the tropical environment that Townsville enjoys.
