Skyline cranes - The Verde + Ergon Energy development

This perspective shot I took facing Blackwood Street highlights the changing skyline of Townsville. The Verde crane is to the left, whilst the crane on the right will be the Ergon Energy building.

Ross Creek Esplanade & City @ dusk

I took this shot after attempting to take some city shots that were not quite working out as planned.  As the sun was setting fast I thought I would take a few shots looking over the Ross Creek that allows wonderful views of the city. I took this shot in mid winter, I really enjoyed the pink hues that reflected into the water.  The highrise to the far right is locally known as the "sugar shaker" and was built in the 1970s, as was the building directly to the left of it.  It was originally designed as a car park, but was recently converted into apartments.  Castle Hill stands in the background, whilst the yellow crane is in the process of constructing a new office tower block called The Verde.  The apartments on the left have all been built in recent years.

Stanley Street Bus Interchange + The Verde Development

I took this photograph of the main city bus interchange in Stanley Street.  The interchange used to be in Stokes Street, before the redevelopment of the Townsville Flinders Street mall.  Townsville cities skyline has been changing dramatically over the recent years, and the crane standing behind the police station is the new Government office building being erected, names the Verde. Whilst buildings go up in Townsville, the urban sprawl and empty feeling of the city still remain, this is what I attempt to capture in many of my photographs.
